Take Action for Forests

Take Action for Forests

Every day of delay more precious Koala and Greater Glider habitat is logged to the ground. The logging is targeting the last of the large old trees that are so important to threatened species.

Days have turned into weeks and then into months, still the log trucks leave with huge trees. The promises made seem more hollow than the habitat trees being removed.

Act now and let our Premier know that the time has come to act on protecting this precious habitat.

Calling the Premier is easy! There’s no more direct way to show your support for the full Great Koala National Park. Every call is noted and every call has an impact.

How to make a call:

  • Your call will likely go to voicemail and you will leave a message .

  • If a staff member does answer, they will take a note of your call.

  • You don't have to be an expert on native forest logging. Give your honest opinion and how you feel. Be polite let them know why you feel strongly about this. You don’t have to be an expert, just concerned about wildlife, the climate or future generations.

Talking points:

  • My name is [your name] and I live in [where you live].

  • I’m calling to remind Premier Minns’ of his election promise to establish the Great Koala National Park. Koalas and Greater Gliders need the full park to be delivered as soon as possible to ensure their future survival.

  • The Great Koala National Park area has World Heritage values and is home to a fifth of all koalas in NSW and tens of thousands of endangered gliders. These guys deserve protection!

  • The state logging company just reported a $14.9m loss from its operations logging our native forests over the last six months. It’s galling that taxpayer funds are being used for this destruction, and the government is continuing with log production that isn’t even financially viable.

  • Please pass my message onto the Premier.

  • Thank you for your time.
